Synchrony Farm: horse lessons, training, and boarding in Saline, MI

Boarding at Synchrony Farm

I’ve boarded horses at several barns and taken riding lessons at many, and it is very hard for me to imagine any environment where horses would be happier or receive better care than Synchrony Farm. The horses at Synchrony Farm are the happiest horses I have ever seen. The people at Synchrony Farm, from the boarders to the students to the barn employees are great people with whom to work, ride. I loving being able to and share barn facilities, riding and horse care techniques, and special occasions with them.

Synchrony Farm is a small boarding facility committed to providing quality care for horses and a learning environment for their owners. We are conveniently located within minutes of downtown Saline and within 20 minutes of Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor. The facility has fifteen 10 by 12 stalls with mats, a heated tack and observation room, an indoor arena with a limestone base with screened sand on top and mirrors, a regulation large outdoor Dressage arena, and 14 turnout paddocks and a security system. Fencing varies from wood to vinyl to electric tape and is inspected regularly. Turn out is available in small groups or private.

There are many ways to care for horses and at Synchrony Farm we strive to do what is best from the horse's perspective. Research indicates that turnout is much better than being in a stall so here at Synchrony Farm we attempt to get our horses outside as much as possible. Severe weather and illness are a few of the reasons to stall horses and in those cases they are brought into their stalls. Otherwise, when possible, 24 hour turnout is utilized. From April to Nov. horses receive 8 to 12 hours of grass turnout daily. During the winter, turnout is restricted to dirt paddocks.

There is 24 hour surveillance since our residence is located few hundred feet from the barn and almost all turnout areas are visible from the house.

Hay is fed three to four times a day, depending on the season, and Pro Advantage Formula Grain is fed one to two times daily. Stalls are bedded with shaving and cleaned daily.

We look forward to providing a quality environment for you and your equine companion. If you would like a tour of the facility, give us a call and we’ll be happy to show you around!
